Egyptian Trend Radar — track real-time trending topics with smart analysis and an interactive Egypt map
Eah ElKalam is an Egyptian trend radar that enables tracking the latest trending topics in Egypt in real-time. The app features an interactive Egypt map displaying trends by geographic region, revealing local interests for each governorate. It provides smart analytics and charts showing trend evolution over time and their categories. Trends can be browsed by different categories such as politics, entertainment, and sports, with historical data enabling comparison across different periods.
The app relies on Next.js with trend data fetched from multiple sources, analyzed, and geographically classified. The interactive map uses coordinate data to link trends to governorates. Analytics are calculated through algorithms analyzing trend volume and evolution over time. Prisma stores historical data and facilitates querying.
The biggest challenge was obtaining reliable and continuous Egyptian trend data from multiple sources. Linking trends to geographic regions on the map required intensive data analysis and precise geographic classification. Ensuring real-time data updates without affecting app performance was also a technical challenge.
